Chitwan, Oct 25 : Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said instilling a feeling of social welfare among teenagers was imperative for country's development.
Inaugurating the Scout Jungle Camp 2018 organized by Clinic Nepal Meghauli with the support of the British Scout at Meghauli on Thursday, President Deuba reiterated that feeling of social wellbeing to be created by the Scout would be instrumental to inspire for country's development. "The regional and interstate programme through the Scout also help exchange knowledge and skills," the former prime minister Deuba said.
According to him, with the emergence of new concepts of development, challenge of ensuring sustainable development is growing. The environmental pollution has created health hazards, he argued.
"The young Scouts need to make people aware of such issues," he said, urging, "I've realized that the Scout campaign helps generate the aptitude to think differently."
The President also reminded that the Scout has no religion nor caste, ism and political thoughts.
The Jungle Camp to last for three days would feature various aspects of Scout and have participation of the senior Scout official from Britain.
